A New Look For The New Year

Happy New Year and welcome to 2026!

Most of 2025 was definitely a year of discovery for us, and the last 4 months leading up to the end of the year really kept us busy. The start of the year was a slow ramp-up for us at first. Sales were consistent and improving gradually, but our main focus was redesigning and creating our product lineup. By the end of the year, we were able to see the fruit of our labor. We went from having to restock every few months to every month!

Redesigning and Revamping

If you remember how the original site used to look, we tried to really tone down the color variety on the revamp. At first, we wanted the site colors to match with our Turnip mascot. However, as we started to expand our product offerings, it was best for us to transition into a single, softer tone rather than the bright violet purple and green that we were using before.

Similarly, that also meant that it was time to change up our logo (new year, new me!). We wanted to create a logo that still had aspects of our turnip, but more simple and easier to print. The previous logo was too detailed and looked too cluttered when we tried to create small stamps for our products and packaging. The precision and the colors required was not worth the effort for the results it created. So we stripped it back while finding a way to still show a part of our old logo. In the end, a simple “t” for turnip and a part of the leaf from our old logo made the most sense for us.

Maintaining Consistency

It wasn’t just about updating our brand colors and logo but also about creating and developing new products that aligned with our goals. Yes, in a world where stationery products are a dime a dozen, it feels incredibly difficult to stand out. Almost every major concept has already been done, so all that’s left is to make it better and make it unique. Like many businesses, being able to answer the million-dollar question without having a million dollars (ha!) is “How do we stand out?” Well, besides our odd store name, we’re still trying to figure the other part out! 😀

Turnip started out with the goal of creating products that value progression, which means steady growth. While our store has changed a lot in a year, our goal has not. We believe consistency is what allows growth to be meaningful, refining what works, learning from what doesn’t, and continuously improving. Every update, redesign, and new product is rooted in the same values we started with, just executed a little better each time.

That’s why we focus on creating small stationery products like notebooks and planners (& planner cards). It’s because they support progress in easy, approachable ways. They are tools meant to help you plan, reflect, and grow little by little, whether it’s every day, every week, or even once a year. Whether it’s one page, one card, or one note, we hope our products get to experience your growth.

Expanding Our Store Beyond Etsy

Our main goal for the next couple of months is to officially open up shop on our website. That doesn’t mean that we’re looking to leave Etsy any time soon. Etsy is still a great online marketplace that allows us to offer customized options for our buyers. Our shop website will focus on selling non-customizable orders like stickers, planner cards, and stationery accessories. This does mean that we will be slowly transitioning some older products out of Etsy and into our store.

To a New Us in a New Year and Beyond

As Turnip continues to grow, we plan to stay grounded in the same values that shaped us from the start. While change will always be part of the process, consistency is what keeps us moving.

Thank you for being here and growing with us.
